Supportive care for people with spinal curvature, focused on movement, comfort, and functional capacity rather than correction of spinal shape.
Children, adolescents, and adults with a diagnosed spinal curvature or concerns about spinal alignment and function.
Growth-related changes, prolonged sitting, physical demands, muscular imbalance, or leg asymmetry.
Supporting spinal movement, managing discomfort, improving strength and control, and promoting confidence in everyday activity.
Scoliosis refers to a curvature of the spine that can vary widely in presentation and impact. Symptoms are not always related to curve size and may be influenced by posture, muscle balance, and activity levels.
Care may focus on supporting movement, addressing muscle balance, improving postural awareness, and providing guidance to help manage symptoms and daily activities.
A detailed discussion of symptoms, daily activities, health history, and goals, alongside physical assessment to understand movement, posture, and contributing factors.
Care is planned around individual findings, preferences, and lifestyle, with an emphasis on appropriate, proportionate support.
This may include hands-on care, movement guidance, and exercises aimed at supporting recovery and functional improvement.
Progress is reviewed regularly, with care adjusted based on response, functional change, and evolving goals.
During your first visit, we will conduct a thorough assessment of your condition. This means discussing your health history and any specific issues you’re facing. Following that, we will perform physical, neurological and orthopaedic tests to better understand your needs.
Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for easy movement. It’s important that you can move freely during your assessment and treatment, so dress in a way that makes you feel at ease. During the new patient, females will be offered a gown and if X-rays are needed, bra’s may have to be removed.
In most cases, treatment does not begin at the first visit.
Your initial appointment is focused on understanding what’s going on. We’ll take a detailed history, carry out a physical examination and, where appropriate, perform or arrange any necessary diagnostic tests. This allows us to build a clear picture of your condition and decide on the most appropriate course of care. From there we build a tailor-made treatment plan specifically for you.
We’ll talk you through our findings and discuss a personalised treatment plan at your Report of Findings appointment. This gives you time to understand your options, ask questions and give informed consent before any treatment begins.
However, if you’re experiencing an acute problem (rather than a long-standing condition) — for example pain that has started within the last day or two — we’ll always do our best to help where it’s safe and appropriate. This may include gentle care, advice, or guidance on how to manage your symptoms until your Report of Findings.
Our priority is to make sure any treatment is appropriate, safe and tailored specifically to you.
The frequency of visits depends on your specific situation and health goals. Initially, you may come in two to three times a week for treatment. As you progress, we’ll adjust the frequency based on your improvement and response to treatment. Many patients choose to continue their care once they are feeling stable which is called maintenance care. Ongoing maintenance visits allow us to continue supporting your journey towards better long-term health.
Absolutely. Chiropractic care is a safe and effective treatment for many issues, especially related to pain management. Our trained professionals use gentle techniques tailored to each individual, ensuring your safety and comfort are always the top priority. Like any treatment there are risks including soreness and bruising. The chance of severe risks are extremely rare and will be discussed with you at the time of your report of findings visit.
