Chiropractors are experts in helping patients move and function. Initially, we may focus on alleviating pain in your back, neck, and joints, so you can enjoy everyday activities.
Regular chiropractic visits nourish better joint function and muscle flexibility, allowing you to move more freely and engage in the physical activities you love.
Chiropractic care focuses on treating the whole person, addressing not only physical symptoms but also promoting overall health and wellness for a balanced life.
With over 20 years of chiropractic care under our belt and hundreds of thousands of treatments, the chances are, we’ve seen it all before. We implement a whole host of difference chiropractic techniques to help you go from pain to perfection.
Chiropractic care focuses on diagnosing and treating neuro-musculo-skeletal (nerve/muscle/bone) disorders, primarily through manual adjustment of the spine. This form of treatment aims to relieve pain and improve overall body function. Many patients experience relief from back pain, neck pain, and other related symptoms.
Chiropractors are regulated in law by the General Chiropractic Council (GCC). Only practitioners that are registered with the GCC are legally allowed to call themselves a Chiropractor. Most will display a GCC certificate at their clinic and display the GCC logo on their website. Beware of practitioners that say they do Chiropractic but don’t call themselves a Chiropractor as the chances are, they are not regulated and registered.
Chiropractic care is generally safe for most individuals. However, certain health conditions may require additional considerations. If you have special requirements such as osteoporosis our treatment will be modified accordingly.
The number of sessions depends on your specific health goals and condition. After an initial assessment, our chiropractor will recommend a personalised plan that outlines the estimated number of visits needed. Care will normally be partitioned to concentrate on pain relief, rehabilitation and wellness care.
Chiropractic care can help many people with musculoskeletal problems involving the spine, joints, muscles and nervous system. We regularly see patients with issues such as back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, joint pain and posture-related problems, as well as many day-to-day aches and injuries.
You can find more detail on the conditions we commonly help with on our What We Treat page.
That said, no two people are the same. During your first visit we’ll carry out a thorough assessment to understand your symptoms, medical history and what’s actually causing the problem. This allows us to determine whether chiropractic care is appropriate for you, or whether another approach or referral would be more suitable.
If we feel chiropractic isn’t the right option for your condition, we’ll always be open and honest and help guide you towards the most appropriate next step.
Your first visit will include a thorough evaluation where we discuss your health history and address any concerns. This will involve physical examinations and diagnostic tests to understand your needs better. X-rays may be necessary but will be discussed with you at the time of your visit. From there, we’ll create a personalised treatment plan.
While many people think that Chiropractic care always involve “clicking”, many treatments are done with only minimal force. These will not cause clicking of joints. Techniques like SOT, NIP and functional neurological treatments are perfect techniques for those who want to avoid general manipulation.
While the spine is a key focus, chiropractors are trained to assess and treat the entire musculoskeletal system. This includes joints, muscles, ligaments and the way different parts of the body work together.
In practice, chiropractors manage conditions including rotator cuff tears, frozen shoulder, knee meniscal problems, foot-arch mechanical problems, TMD (jaw clenching, grinding dysfunction) as well as addressing muscle tension, movement patterns and posture. The aim is to improve function, reduce pain and support the body’s ability to move and heal well.
