Family Wellness

Why Family Care?

A family-centred approach to movement, posture, and everyday wellbeing, encouraging shared habits that support health across different stages of life.

Suitable For:

Families and individuals looking to improve everyday movement habits, postural awareness, and general physical wellbeing together.

Common Triggers:

Busy routines, school and work demands, prolonged sitting, screen use, reduced activity, or changes in lifestyle and routine.

Focus On:

Supporting positive movement habits, improving postural awareness, nutrition and encouraging shared responsibility for wellbeing within the family.

Understanding Family Care

Family wellness recognises that habits rarely exist in isolation. How we move, sit, work, rest, and stay active is often shaped by shared routines, environments, and behaviours within the household.

Changing habits can be challenging when attempted alone. Families often find that working together helps create consistency, accountability, and encouragement, making positive changes feel more achievable and sustainable. When movement and wellbeing become a shared focus rather than an individual task, it can help reduce resistance, normalise healthier choices, and support long-term engagement.

Family wellness is not about perfection or rigid rules. It focuses on gradual, realistic adjustments that fit everyday life, supporting each family member at their own stage while moving collectively toward healthier patterns of movement and activity.

Common reasons people attend:

How care may help you:

Care may involve assessment, education, and practical guidance aimed at helping families understand movement habits, identify areas for change, and implement supportive strategies that work within real-world routines.

How Care Typically Works

Assessment

Time is taken to understand individual and family routines, daily activities, and physical demands, with consideration given to age, development, and lifestyle.

Bespoke Plan:

Plans are shaped collaboratively, recognising that different family members may have different needs while working toward shared wellbeing goals.

Care and Rehab:

This may include supportive hands-on care where appropriate, movement guidance, and education designed to help families build healthier habits together at home, school, and work.

Review and Progress:

Progress is reviewed as life progresses, with guidance adapted to new routines, or family needs and circumstances evolve.

Frequently Asked Questions

During your first visit, we will conduct a thorough assessment of your condition. This means discussing your health history and any specific issues you’re facing. Following that, we will perform physical, neurological and orthopaedic tests to better understand your needs.

Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for easy movement. It’s important that you can move freely during your assessment and treatment, so dress in a way that makes you feel at ease.  During the new patient, females will be offered a gown and if X-rays are needed, bra’s may have to be removed.

In most cases, treatment does not begin at the first visit.

Your initial appointment is focused on understanding what’s going on. We’ll take a detailed history, carry out a physical examination and, where appropriate, perform or arrange any necessary diagnostic tests. This allows us to build a clear picture of your condition and decide on the most appropriate course of care.  From there we build a tailor-made treatment plan specifically for you.

We’ll talk you through our findings and discuss a personalised treatment plan at your Report of Findings appointment. This gives you time to understand your options, ask questions and give informed consent before any treatment begins.

However, if you’re experiencing an acute problem (rather than a long-standing condition) — for example pain that has started within the last day or two — we’ll always do our best to help where it’s safe and appropriate. This may include gentle care, advice, or guidance on how to manage your symptoms until your Report of Findings.

Our priority is to make sure any treatment is appropriate, safe and tailored specifically to you.

The frequency of visits depends on your specific situation and health goals. Initially, you may come in two to three times a week for treatment. As you progress, we’ll adjust the frequency based on your improvement and response to treatment. Many patients choose to continue their care once they are feeling stable which is called maintenance care. Ongoing maintenance visits allow us to continue supporting your journey towards better long-term health.

Absolutely. Chiropractic care is a safe and effective treatment for many issues, especially related to pain management. Our trained professionals use gentle techniques tailored to each individual, ensuring your safety and comfort are always the top priority. Like any treatment there are risks including soreness and bruising.  The chance of severe risks are extremely rare and will be discussed with you at the time of your report of findings visit.
